Andrea Lynn Laber, age 64, of Saint Louis, MO passed away Tuesday, January 31st, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles K Laber, and her brother, Brian Laber.
She leaves behind her mother, Barbara Laber, and her sisters Dana McElyea and Belinda (Joseph) Bommarito. She was a loving aunt to Jordan and Nicholas Bommarito, Charlie Laber, and Aaron and Caleb McElyea. Andrea was also a great-aunt and a friend to many.
Andrea dedicated her early life to teaching. She graduated with a master’s degree in German. She attended university in Munich, and returned to Germany to teach English in the East following the Cold War. Prior to retirement, she worked alongside her adored father, Charles, in family business.
Andrea was a passionate dog lover. She found great joy and companionship in her beloved dog, Midge.
In recent years, Andrea taught herself how to crochet. She crocheted hats and enthusiastically gave them to fellow cancer warriors. Andrea was strengthened by her Catholic faith. Her kind spirit, positive outlook, and gratitude are examples to all who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held. She will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri, 63125.
