Patricia Mary Demers was born on May 19, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the younger of two daughters born to John and Catherine McMullan (nee Davidson). Her older sister Margaret was born in 1930 and passed away in 1966.
Patricia, a life-long St. Clair Shores resident, attended St. Gertrude School in St. Clair Shores and graduated in 1952. She married the love of her life, Leo Demers at St. Gertrude Church on June 5, 1954. Together they raised a large and loving family of 8 children: Laurette (Ron) Lipa, John (Sandra), Collette (Mark) Kent, Barbara (Kevin) Bluhm, Frank (Janice), Margie (James) Gagliardi, Larry (Julie) and Kathryn (Mike) Polsinelli. Patricia was also the loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren with her first great grandchild due September 2015.
Patricia worked many years as an X-Ray Technician and loved her work. Patricia and Leo enjoyed their lives immensely. They loved to take their family on ski trips and vacations. Patricia loved to travel and made several trips back to Ireland, the homeland of her parents. She was your classic, red-haired, fiery Irish woman and would never shy away from a debate. In 2008 Patricia and Leo purchased a winter home in Bonita Springs, Florida where they spent the past 7 years enjoying life in the sun.
Patricia will be remembered for her faith, quick wit, loyalty to her friends and love for her family. We will miss taking her to the casino, eating her corned beef and sharing a Bloody Mary cocktail with her. Her legacy lives on in the family she leaves behind.
