JOSEPH E. MILAM, age 93 Beloved husband of the late Fannie Lou, Dear father of Russell (Jennifer) and Patricia (Michael) McGillen; Proud grandfather of Daniel (Courtney), Brian (Alexis), Mark, Ryan (Kristen) McGillen, and Kevin (Rebecca Puszcz) McGillen; Doting great-grandfather of Owen, Louisa and Cara. Brother-in-law of Brooksy Milam. He was born in Henry Tennessee, the third of four sons of Malcolm and Bessie Milam. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Clarence, Harry and Cooper. He was “Uncle Joe” to his many loving nieces and nephews. Joe was known for his green thumb, always having a beautiful lawn and a bountiful vegetable garden which he shared with his family, friends and neighbors. Joe came to Michigan to work in the auto industry, starting at Briggs Manufacturing and then working for the Chrysler Corporation for 34 years before retiring in 1981. He also played baseball for the Saint Louis Browns Farm System prior to serving in the US Army during World War II. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 3:00 until 9:00 pm, and on Monday from 11:00 until the time of the service at noon, at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Burial with military honors will take place at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, following a service on Thursday January 17, 2:00 pm at Highland Drive Christian Church, in Jonesboro Arkansas.
