Joan worked as a parish secretary beginning at St. Jude Catholic Church and then working at Our Lady Star of the Sea until she retired. She was a member of St. Hubert Catholic Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the B52s. Joan enjoyed volunteering at the Ford House, the Crocker House, the Harrison Township Library where she was a founding member, and the Selinsky-Green Farmhouse Museum. She also enjoyed traveling and going where she was needed to help watch her grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Dennis. She is survived by her loving children: Barb (Matt) Knoche, Denise (Rick Hayes) Cox, Kevin (Sandra) Cox, James (Lauren Hendricks) Cox; grandchildren: Jeffrey (Sara) Knoche, Renee (Mark) Urban, Michael (Andrea) Cox, Isabelle Cox, Cate Cox, Chloe Cox; 5 great-grandchildren: Alison Knoche, Claire Knoche, Channing Urban, Leighton Urban, Mark Urban III; and brother: James Barrett.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Hubert Catholic Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 11:00 am with luncheon to follow.
