It is with great sadness that the family of Robert George "Bob" Gill II announces his passing on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the age of 80. Robert was born June 11, 1941. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Ruth, and his son Todd. Bob is survived by his wife Dianne, his sons Robert III (Cindy), Gregory (Joanne), and Brian, his grandchildren TJ, Makenzie, Krystal-Lynn, and Alex, his four great-grandchildren, his brother David (Sharon), his sister Barbara (Robert), and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was an active member of the St. Catharines Fire Department for 37 years, retiring as Platoon Chief. He was also a very active volunteer at the St. David's Lions Club. Bob was extremely proud of his work both as a firefighter and a volunteer. He thoroughly enjoyed driving his tractor around his property, and loved taking Makenzie to her soccer games, dance, piano and everything else. This is time together that she will miss.
Friends and family will be received at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 75 Church St., St. Catharines (905-684-6346) on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Proof of full vaccination will be required at the door. A Graveside Service for Bob will be held at the St. David's United Church Cemetery on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a local brain injury charity, CNIB, Guide Dogs Canada, or to the Canadian Cancer Society for leukemia would be appreciated by the family.
