My impressions of Lany was that she was a strong woman and an excellent mother who raised her three children mostly on her own with great love.  Her son Corey became out son. They were her life and later the grandkids took over! She knew exactly how to win their hearts. Lany made beautiful elaborate  Christmas stockings for all the grandkids . She loved to give them treats , mentos for one and other Dutch delicacies. Lany was the perfect Oma. She will be missed.. by her children, grandchildren and all her extended family.

Lany and Dave were our next neighbours for over 20 years, they were more like  family always there when you needed them. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t remember something funny that brings a smile or a giggle.  You’ll be sorely missed by your lovely family, they were a credit to you. Love you all Betty Corris xxoo

So very saddened to hear of Lany’s passing.   Our deepest condolences to her family and to everyone who knew and loved her.

L any was the first person we met when we  first bought our place on Canterbury.  Bentley was always close at her heels and they made quite a cute pair on their daily walks. She was friendly, welcoming and very helpful in navigating the ins and outs of condo living.

It was evident that her love of family and her many grandbabies that came to visit often  was paramount to her. 

She had the knack of “keeping on keeping on” when she was diagnosed with this terrible disease, much to our admiration and respect. 

We will miss her, so very glad we got to know her  and her orange marmalade will always been fondly remembered.

Corey, Jennifer and Jamie, my heart goes out to all of you and the kids.  Lany was a force for sure, so strong and so wonderful with the children. I feel Blessed  to have know her and will always remember how kind she was to me in Mexico after my “dip” in the pond.
Keep your memories alive as they will get you through some tough times.

Thank you Corey, Jennifer and Jamie for sharing your mom with so many of us. When Aunt Lany came through the door of any house, she would always carry a beautiful smile on her face and  it would resonate with all. On behalf of Rick, Don ,Kara and myself, we were so grateful to have her offer the additional love and support to our mom and dad in our absence. Aunt Lany holds a special place in all of our hearts and will be forever cherished.

Our thoughts are with all of you, our great nephew and great nieces.  Your Mom was a wonderful person and a great fighter.  She was also the only one of the family who constantly reminded us of her grandmother Grietje Schonewille.  She was almost a duplicate in looks and size.  They only differed by three years in their passing.  
We remember fondly the many camping trips to Bonnechere Provincial Park as a family.  So much to remember.  Stay strong as she would want you to.  Your loving Great Aunt Greta and Great Uncle Peter

 Through almost 31 years of memories, being neighbors, raising kids, sharing laughter and tears, I have been so fortunate to call Lany my friend. Lany was unconditionally devoted to, and proud of,Jamie, Jen and Corey, their spouses and all her grandchildren and that love was evident every time I spoke with her. She was one of the most compassionate, empathetic and beautiful souls I have ever known and I will miss her every day. My heart goes out to all the family.

I met Lany when our kids were young.  Our oldest kids were in nursery school. So she lived by me and saw I walked  with my kids.  She spoke to me and offered rides to take my daughter to nursery school.  Well we became friends,we would watch each other's kids . We would laugh, have tea.  We would listen no matter  the problem.   Even though we didn't  talk as much in recent years we knew  we could call  if needed. Lany will  always be in my heart.  Georgia L.

My fondest memory of Lany has to be from the Family Picnic the first year that my step children attended. I had told them that there would be a lot of people and if they got ‘lost’ to ask any lady who looked like Oma (Mary Dekker) to help them find me.  Aunt Lany did just that for my Maia.  Held her hand and gave her a cookie until they could track me down.  

What to say, there is lots I could say, aunt lany was one of a kind, she always made u smile, always had a smart remark, I loved her dearly, oh and I can't forget she use to creep up and scare the crap out of me, I well truly miss her
