Born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully at Ina Grafton Gage Village on Sunday, Sept 18th, 2016 in his 97th year.
John, beloved husband of Mabel (nee Thiessen). Dear father of Mark (Betty Anne) and John Jr. Loving grandfather of Neil (Deanne), Alison (Lee) of Burlington and Jane (Ruddy) of New Brunswick. Fondly remembered by his 6 great grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Bernice and Patricia and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Eudoxia Kramer, his in-laws George and Mary Thiessen, his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
John was a WWII Veteran, 2nd Canadian Armour Brigade and came home in 1946. He retired from GM as superintendent in 1980 and was a member of Legion Branch 24.
The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346) on Wednesday, Sept 21st from 2-4 and 7-9pm, Vigil Prayers at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, Sept 22nd at 10:30am at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 67 Church Street. Cremation. If so desired, donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Ina Grafton Gage Village in John’s memory, would be appreciated by his family.
