Jimmie Delaine "JD" Ward, age 89, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. He was born May 20, 1935, to Eugene and Eva Lucille (nee: Gibson) Ward. They have preceded him in death, as have his step-mother Opel Ward, and siblings: Bobby Ward, Regina Fitzgerald, Larry Carter, and Burl Carter. Jimmie is survived by: his loving wife Donna Kay (nee: Jackson) Ward; his daughter Julia Maloney (Mike); his granddaughter Rebecca Delaine Maloney; his great granddaughter Carmen Kay; his sisters: Joyce Murray, Janice Beleher, Sharon Webb (Jim), Sue Carter; his brothers: Carl Ward (Mary Lou), James Ward (Marla), Thurman Ward, and Harold Ward; he is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jimmie proudly served in the United States Navy from July 19, 1954 to December 12, 1957. He worked at the General Motors Plant in St. Louis until it closed. He then transferred to the General Motors Plant in Wentzville. While at the St. Louis Plant he was elected as Financial Secretary of Local 25 UAW for eight years. He retired from the Wentzville plant in June, 1990. He and Donna owned DJ's Tip Top Tavern on Shenandoah and Nebraska, from 1990 to 1995.
He was a member of Beacon Lodge #3, A.F. & A.M. He was a Mason for over 40 years, as well as being a Shriner. Jimmie also enjoyed cruising and going on trips with Local 2250 retirees.
