Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother church, Henrietta Ann Kliethermes, age 91, beloved matriarch and cherished member of the community passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Henrietta was born on June 4, 1932 to the late Henry and Adeline (nee Hilmes) Deiters. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Herb Kliethermes, her son, John Kliethermes, a grandson, Timmy McDonald, and her son-in-law, Tommy McDonald. Henrietta was the last survivor of her six siblings.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Laura McDonald, David (Sheila) Kliethermes, Linda (Bill) Hance, Nancy Dorenkamp, Jim (Amy) Kliethermes, Theresa (Mark) Kniepmann, Mark (Cindy) Kliethermes, Joe (Sherry) Kliethermes, her twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and her three great-great grandchildren. They will always carry her memory in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Henrietta found joy in simple pleasures, particularly her love for gardening the beauty of flowers, with a special fondness for the 4 o’clock flower. Her family was the center of her world, and she found immense happiness in caring for and spending time with loved ones. Henrietta has a special talent in caring for babies and was always available to babysit, bringing comfort and love to each child she held.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and when she and Herb were younger, they would often travel for a planned business trip. Every Friday night, her home was the gathering place for her family, where they enjoyed delicious meals and created cherished memories together. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, and always made everyone feel welcomed. On the fourth of July, she continued the tradition of making homemade ice cream.
A unique part of Henrietta’s story was her lifetime possession of the same last four digits (0008) of her phone number until about a year ago. A small quirk that brought joy and amusement to those around her.
Henrietta will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration to her beautiful family.
