Gregory Lahay, 90, of Maryland Heights, MO born on November 29, 1923 in St. Louis, MO passed away peacefully on September 29, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Lahay was a proud veteran of the US Army/Airforce and served in WWII on a B-24 fighter. Greg was a proud member of the American Legion, American Red Cross, Maryland Heights Presbyterian Church, and the Maryland Heights Parks and Recreation Committee. He was an extremely talented golfer his entire life and enjoyed spending time on the greens. He met his beautiful wife at the roller skating rink where he wowed her with his amaing skating skills. Later in life, they also enjoyed swing dancing together.
He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Gloria (nee Treadway) Lahay; his children, Linda Spain and Gregory (Denise) Lahay; grandchildren, Raymond Riddle, Lance (Jayde) Lahay, Paige (Shawn Janet) Lahay, and Trish Lahay; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; his cousin, Bill Huffman; and dear friends, Dave and Maggie Shepherd; and many more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Della (nee Frazier) Lahay; his siblings, Noarma Ramsey, Alveda Hunter, Bernard Lahay, Gerald Lahay, Harry "Chubby" Lahay, Charles "Buddy" Lahay, Irene Suit, and Albert Lahay; and 2 sons-in law, Gary Spain and William Audrain.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home and from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, October 3. Service is on Friday, October 3 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Fee Fee Cemetery.
