Garnet Lee May, age 89, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. She was born November 30, 1933 to the late Luther L. and Ivy (nee Mette) Kelch. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger H. May. Garnet leaves behind her loving daughters; Gayle and Cheryl May.
Garnet was a talented woman known for her dedication to her family. Garnet’s family was her highest priority, caring for Roger as he battled cancer at the end of his life. As a mother, she sewed dancing costumes, served as Girl Scout leader, and spent countless hours driving her daughters from one activity to another. Once her girls were through high school, she worked at Sears as a receiving clerk. Garnet had a unique talent for transforming everyday items into treasures through her crafting endeavors, showcasing her creativity and resourcefulness. She enjoyed gardening and had a love for nature. She kept a generous haven in her backyard for the hummingbirds, bluebirds, and her cherished squirrels, particularly one she named, Rocky.
As we bid farewell to Garnet, we remember a loving mother and a devoted friend. Her legacy of love, creativity, and kindness will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.
