Gail B. Koenig Jr.

Gail B. Koenig Jr., 89, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, surrounded by his family and the memories of a life well lived. Born on August 23, 1935, to Gail Koenig Sr. and Kathleen Ward, Gail grew up with a strong sense of family, tradition, and duty, values he carried with him throughout his life.

Gail was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ina Jo “Jody” Koenig, with whom he shared 59 years of love and companionship. He was also preceded by his parents and his brother, Tim Koenig.

Gail is survived by his devoted son, Scott Koenig (Sandy); his cherished grandsons, Scott Koenig and Sam Koenig; his sister-in-law Patty Koenig, his nephew, Sean Koenig; and his niece, Stacy Davis. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in spending quality time with his loved ones.

An Army veteran, Gail served his country with honor and pride, embodying the values of service and commitment. In his civilian life, Gail was a proud and active member of the Elks Lodge in Laurie, Missouri, where he made many lifelong friends and enjoyed giving back to the community.

Gail was happiest on the water, whether fishing for freshwater bass or saltwater catches. A licensed boat captain, he delighted in going to their house at Lake of the Ozarks, where laughter and stories filled the air. He was a skilled fisherman and a lover of nature, always finding peace and joy in the beauty of the water.

Those who knew Gail remember his humor and unwavering love for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, and devotion that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Rest in peace, Gail. May your journey continue on calm waters.

A Visitation for Gail will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074. The Funeral will occur Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location immediately followed by the Committal at 11:00 AM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
