Deborah Jean Lavin, known affectionately as Debbie by her loved ones, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, in St. Ann, MO, at the age of 63. Born on November 16, 1960, in St. Louis, MO, Debbie lived a life marked by love, faith, and generosity, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Debbie was the daughter of Roger Sillman and Shirley Bosworth, and stepdaughter to David Bosworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Sillman and Shirley Bosworth, as well as her stepfather, David Bosworth. She was also preceded by her brothers, Ronald Paul Sillman and Steven Todd Sillman. Debbie's legacy of love continues through her devoted husband of 38 years, Brian Lavin, and her adored children: Angela M. Gregory (Rob), Mark R. Sillman (Dee Mehmeti), David M. Lavin, and Tonnya J. Feeney (Chad). Her life was further enriched by the joy of her grandchildren: Alexandrea, Christopher, Kelly, Kailey, Landyn, Aidyn, Madisyn, Natalie, Prestyn, Maryn, and Morgyn, who will miss her deeply. She is survived by her cherished sisters, Sue Stanfield and Carol Galbraith. Debbie was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, who will remember her for her kind spirit.
In her professional life, Debbie was known for her dedication and care for others. For two decades, she served as a convenience store manager. Later in life she became a caretaker, roles in which she demonstrated her innate ability to nurture and her commitment to community. Debbie's work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on those she worked with and served.
Debbie's interests and hobbies reflected the warmth of her personality. She had a deep appreciation for country music and the music of Elvis, which brought her great joy and comfort. Her love for conversation was apparent in the hours she spent catching up with friends and family on the phone, sharing stories and laughter. Debbie was also a devoted pet lover, finding companionship and delight in the animals she cared for throughout her life.
One of Debbie's favorite places was the beach, where she found serenity in the rhythm of the waves and the vastness of the ocean. It was a place of reflection and happiness for her, a natural extension of her love for the beauty of life.
Above all, Debbie was a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a doting grandmother. Her faith-filled spirit guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, and her generous nature ensured that she was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of support. Debbie's presence was a source of comfort and strength to her family, and her guidance and unconditional love will be sorely missed.
Debbie's life was a testament to the power of love and the impact one person can have on the lives of many. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends.

A visitation will be held for Debbie on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home, located at 11101 St. Charles Rock Rd., St. Ann, MO 63074. A service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home with a committal to follow at Calvary Cemetery, located at 5239 W. Florissant Ave., St. Louis, MO 63115.
