Virginia Katherine Harper Clark was born on September 28, 1917 to Roy F. and Helen M. (Noonan) Harper. She was a 3rd Generation Washingtonian, preceded in death by her brother, John F. Harper. She attended St. Gabriel's elementary school where she was May Queen voted by her peers in her eighth grade class. She graduated from Notre Dame Girls Academy in Washington, DC, the Class of 1935. She continued her post graduate studies at Notre Dame to complete a Business/Secretarial Course.
Virginia met Ralph J. Clark, Sr. at the Navy Department in Washington, DC and they were married on January 8, l941 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. They were married for 55 years and he predeceased her on April 23, l996.
Virginia had three children, Christine (Bill) Keenan, Concord, CA, Joe (Barbara) Clark, Fairfax Station, VA and Valerie (Lon) Kramer Winchester, VA. She was also blessed with Grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Debbie, Jeannine (deceased) Paul, Chad, Matthew and Angela. She is Great Grandmother to, Lexi, Caitlin, Torrie, Lynzie, Kayla, James, Wesley, Reece and Stella. Great Great Grandmother to Delaney.
Her family came first in all aspects of her life as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was primarily a homemaker, occasionally working as a secretary or in retail. She shared her Roman Catholic faith by teaching Religious Education for over 40 years.
Virginia through the years was member of St. Philips (Camp Springs, MD), St. Lawrence (Franconia, VA), Church of the Nativity (Burke, VA) and Sacred Heart of Winchester, VA.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Church of the Nativity 6400 Nativity Lane, Burke, VA. There will be a viewing at 11:00 at church prior to the Mass. Interment will be at National Memorial Park 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA. A reception to follow at the home of her son, Joe Clark.
