Michael Donald Blair was born on April 29, 1968, in Oceanside, California. He lived in California for 28 years, then moved to Alaska for 13 years and spent the last 6 years in Northern Virginia. Michael passed away at his home on December 26, 2015, at the age of 47.
Michael grew up in California where he earned his high school diploma. Mike pursued pit crew member and butcher before ultimately choosing road construction as his career. He was a very hard worker and with 25+ years experience, he was extremely knowledgeable.
Michael fell in love with and married Laverne Rudolph in 1995. They had two children, Tristan and Kyle.
His main priority was to provide for his family and accomplished this goal by having a strong work ethic. He was a loving, caring and thoughtful man, who thought of his family every second of every day. They were always on his mind, and it showed. He was also a good friend, who could be trusted and was always available to give advice or lend an ear.
Michael had a zest for cooking. He smiled at any and all compliments on his mad cooking skills. One of his favorite meals was a good steak and a loaded baked potato. He loved to fish. He usually purchased his fishing license within the first week of January. Once he had children he spent less and less time fishing and more time soaking up the role of husband and father. He was so proud.
Michael was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Esperanza Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Laverne Blair; and his children, Tristan Blair and Kyle Blair.
May God grant eternal peace unto Michael, Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
