It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gloria Legaspi on September 28, 2024. She was 83 years old. Born on April 23, 1941. A loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a cherished friend.
A devoted mother to her children Gary Legaspi (Judy Legaspi), Annette Stone (Glen Stone), Michael Legaspi (Lani Legaspi), Ricky Legaspi (Bibi Legaspi), Lisa Vettovaglia (Afshin Vettovaglia). She dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting them through every challenge and triumph, always putting them first.
Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren Bella Stone, Ethan Stone, Alix Vettovaglia, and Cobie Vettovaglia who brought her immeasurable happiness. Gloria had a special way of making each of them feel cherished, creating lasting memories through shared stories, adventures, and the warmth of her loving embrace.
She is also survived by her sisters Lori Luna, Clara Alvarez and Amparo Estur.
A woman of great strength and compassion, Gloria was known for her warm smile and nurturing spirit. She found joy in the simplest of moments—whether it was cooking, spending time with the family on vacations, or hosting family gatherings filled with love and laughter.
Throughout her courageous battle with cancer, Gloria displayed incredible strength and grace, inspiring those around her with her unwavering spirit. Even during the toughest times, she continued to uplift others, showing resilience and a remarkable capacity for love. Her laughter and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Gloria’s life will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Demaine Funeral Home 5308 Backlick Rd. Springfield, VA 22151 at 1:30 pm. The family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and the love she so freely shared.
