Elsie Sparkman Cox (Age 88) died peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her residence in Gainesville, VA surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Charles Cox; loving mother of Robert Sparkman II( Cynthia), Gregory Sparkman(Cynthia) and Brenda Devine(Ron); devoted grandmother of Vince Worley, Bryan Sparkman(Stephanie), Matthew Sparkman, Benjamin Devine(Jill), Randy Devine and Christopher Devine. Elsie is also survived by two brothers, William Shurley Vann (Emma Jean) and Donald Vann(Virginia).
A visitation will be held, Friday, January 27, 2012 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 5308 BACKLICK RD., SPRINGFIELD,VA. A funeral service will be held, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Springfield, 7300 Gary St. Springfield, VA 22150. Interment to follow in National Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Elsie’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Springfield.
