Cathy, I really missed your talks about life and events that happened before my generation. So many other things I want to tell you.  I will miss your wisdom.

To the best of my recollection, I got to know Cathy (then) Lorsong, better when she helped me on a playground after I got knocked out cold. Don't remember how that happened but remember her smiling face.  It was the same smile in 5th? grade that is seen in her photo here. She was full of fun, laughter and sparkle from that day until the last time I spoke to her, 2 weeks before she left this world. 

During the early days of High School, I would talk with her at least twice a day, at lunch with Liz Novotny (Openhym) and Julie Myers, and then after talking to then my boyfriend, Tom Baldwin, on the phone. Cathy was great friends with so many including Tom, whom she called "Tommy Turtle". 

I have such a clear memory of listening to "Your Song" the first Elton John hit, in Cathy's rec room. We played it over and over because it was so beautiful. She was there for our "White house" and lots of other parties and many a band practice of Tom and friends.

We also went together to CDC with Mic Maury (who allowed non-Catholics to attend, like yours truly). We loved those meetings because Mr Maury talked with us about all kinds of philosophical things. Those meeting were also attended by Cathy’s brother, Jim, Kathy (then Pahl) Burrows, John Redmond, and Greg Hawkes. 

I was so fortunate to stay friends with Cathy throughout the years. I was at her wedding and so happy for her pregnancy with Ian several years later.  Although we saw each other rarely after our family moved from the area, we would talk on the phone occasionally and it never mattered how long if had been, it was always as though we had spoken the day before. Vic and I were so pleased to get to meet Robin, the love of her later life and I loved hearing the stories of his kindness to her. 

Rest in peace , my lifelong friend. You are remembered with much love.

I was so heartbroken to learn of Cathy's passing! We worked together for ten years and she was a dear friend. She was bright, funny, caring and thoughtful! A true angel on earth. My deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Cathy's family . Her beautiful legacy lives on! 

I am shocked and bewildered at the passing of Cathy. I so appreciated her friendly nature and hard work and dedication to support me and other teachers in the exercise of our consciences. She helped make it possible for so many to experience true freedom in deciding for the good and true instead of feeling trapped in an unjust system. May she now be experiencing the ultimate freedom in beauty, truth, and goodness for all of eternity. I will have a mass celebrated for the repose of her soul here in the other Washington. 

I, too, am shocked & saddened to hear the news of Cathy’s passing. I worked with this amazing, gifted & happy professional for more than 40 years! CEAFU & teachers everywhere have lost a true friend & champion for individual rights.

I am SO SO sorry about the loss of your MOM. She was a good friend.
Here's what I can say about her:
She was a good listener, very intelligent, funny, had a great laugh, hated being the center of attention, was always willing to help if she could, loved the National Right to Work and all of her friends there, and she always had a smile on her face, no matter what! She also had a strong faith.
I have missed  my lunches with her since I moved to Florida, and was just getting ready to call her to commiserate, wish I had done it sooner.  
Stay strong, and think back on all the love and support she always showed you.

Cathy and I went to high school together at Atholton High.  As seniors  I had the fortune of taking her to our  prom and we had a great time together.  We spent hundreds of hours on the phone  at night.   My mother referred to her as the velvet fog due to her voice when she called.   Her favorite color was purple and when she wrote me, she would use sealing wax on the envelope closure.  She was a very good friend and I am sorry she left this world at such a young age.  

Cathy was such a caring person, and such a dedicated worker. I always loved her laugh. Now you are one of the angels smiling down at us. 

Cathy was one of the kindest, most caring persons I have met.  No matter what the situation,  with a smile and a laugh, she was always willing to jump in and help.  She was a treasure to work with. 

Cathy had an amazing attitude; always upbeat and positive even in the midst of turmoil.  She was a kind soul and cared about others.  May God greet you with "Well done, good and faithful servant".
