He was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 15, 1960.
He was preceded in death by his mother JoAnn L. Batemen and his father Robert E. Pierce and his sister Donna Jo Graves.
Wendell owned Pierce Construction working most of his life in the construction trade. He was a Springfield native, attending Lanphier High School and Lincoln Land Community College for business management.
Wendell is survived by his wife Cheryl Pierce of Springfield, Illinois, his daughter Alexis Allard of Farmington, Illinois. his grandchildren, Macayla (fiancé Kevin Borja) Murphy, and Shawn (fiancé Erica Sale) Allard and great-grandson Elijah Allard, sister Elizabeth A. Whitley of Kneeland, California, brother Robert E. Pierce of Caseyville, Illinois and sister Cara (husband Brian) Weatherford of Springfield,. And several nieces, nephews and grand nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 from 4 to 6 pm. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
