Vera Stanley

Vera was born Feb. 27, 1940 the daughter of Charles Banks and Virginia Louis (Council) Black. She married Harry John “Jack” Stanley in Springfield, July 20, 1973 and he preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Cleeton and a sister, Mary Seger.

Vera was the owner and operator of Stanley Christian Cleaning Service for many years.

Surviving are her children: Robert (Kelli) Jackson of Chestnut, IL, Misty (Steve) Bee of Athens, IL and Lance Stanley of Springfield, IL. She has 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters: Dodie (Heinze) Kluge of Jacksonville, IL, Norma Miller of Springfield, Violet (Floyd) Gibson of Chesterfield, MO, Pat (Jack) Wells of Danville, IL, Cheryl (David) Stinnett of Sikeston, MO, and Sharon Marquis, her brother, Wayne (Anita) Marquis of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Service: The family will greet friends and family from 10:30 -11:30 am Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at the Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor Tony Shuff officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
