She was born on May 19, 1943 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Feudi and Eileen (Jones) DiProfio and the late Edward and Mary (Pearman) Brown. She was united in marriage to Jack Lee Cass on December 15, 1962. Jack was born on February 2, 1944 in Springfield, the son of the late Herschel and Eleanor (Adkins) Cass, Sr. He preceded her in death on October 6, 2019.
Toni and Jack were 1962 graduates of Feitshans High School. They were the owners/operators of Grandview IGA and later owned Waverly Family Foods. They enjoyed retirement at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camdenton, MO where they attended Camdenton United Methodist.
Toni enjoyed crafting and excelled at sewing, quilting, and embroidering. She was a loyal Cub fan. Jack enjoyed working outside, mowing the grass and tending his flowers. He was a member of the Meat Cutter’s Union.
They are survived by 3 children, Jackie (Mark) Cunningham of Auburn, IL, Anthony (Cindy) Cass and Rhonda (Kevin) Mackiney, both of Springfield; 6 grandchildren, Tonia L., Dylan, and Abigail (Bridget Reynolds) Cunningham, Cassie (Ray Grider) Teubner, Jack B. (Alyssa Norell) and Brock Mackiney.
Toni is also survived by 5 siblings Theresa (David) Forsyth of Aurora, CO, Rod (Carolyn) Brown of Chatham, Dallas Brown and Jeff (Vicki Huff) Brown, both of Springfield, and Bonnie Kuchar of Riverton.
Jack is also survived by 2 siblings, Barbara Sage of Tallula, IL and Jim (Marcia) Cass.
Besides their parents, Toni was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Sharon McGill and Bobby Brown; and Jack was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Herschel Cass, Jr., Bill Cass, Don Cass, Donna Wolford, Betty Brown, and John Cass.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
