She was born in Kansas City, KS, May 11, 1932. She married Arthur Binnie and he preceded her in death January 15, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley was an administrative assistant with the Modern Handcraft Publishing Co. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Ashland, IL
Surviving are her daughter, Carol (husband Tom) Korty, of Ashland, IL, her two grandchildren; Alexandra (husband J.D.) Harris of Pleasant Plains, IL, and Austin (companion, Mary Lewis) Korty of Virden, IL. She has four great grandchildren: Madison and Amelia Harris, Everly and Branson Korty and Kasin Korty who is expected very soon.
Shirley’s family will greet family and friends at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen St. Springfield, IL from 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday, December 10, 2024 beginning with a prayer service at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church 320 N. Saratoga Ashland, IL with Rev. Maurice Yonta officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Shawnee Mission, KS on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm.
