Shelby Jean Roberts McKay-Arbogast

She was born on April 12, 1941 in Lilbourn, MO, the daughter of Paul and Lois (Wiggs) Roberts. She had been married to Rev. William L. McKay for 36 years when he preceded her in death in 1994. She later married Henry Arbogast. They were married for 9 years when he preceded her in death in 2007

Shelby Jean was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Real Life Church in Springfield and was in the “Forget-me-nots” at her church.

She is survived by 6 children, Annette (husband Perry) Warren of Auburn, IL, Carrie (husband Bret) Cloyd of Springfield, Dwight McKay of Springfield, Robert (wife Cheryl) McKay of Dexter, MO, Alan (wife Paula) McKay of Springfield, and Jerry (fiancé Alicia Wilson) McKay of Springfield, her mother, Lois Roberts of Dexter, MO, 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, a sister Polly Fleeman of Alvin, TX, a brother Ricky (wife Ramona) Roberts of Essex, MO. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Besides both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her father, Paul Roberts.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm at Real Life Church, 2450 Taylor Ave., Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at 10:30 am at the church, with Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Springfield.
