Ronald Barnett

Ron was born on September 27, 1937, in Doniphan, MO, the son of Leo and Gracie McKinney Barnett. He married Mary Muttra on September 27, 1961, in Springfield.

Ron served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and also an as arborist. Ron was an antique vehicle enthusiast, enjoyed aviation history including WWII aircraft, and was a great artist.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Barnett; grandson, Derek Jeffrey Banker Barnett; one sister, Wanda Kiska; and one brother, Jimmie Barnett.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Barnett of Springfield; two sons, Mark (wife, Trish) Barnett of Bloomington and Dennis Barnett of Springfield; one daughter, Lisa Barnett of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Justin Barnett, Sean and Micheal Barnett, and Travis and Dillon Hopkins; one brother, Dennis (wife, Marilyn) Barnett of Springfield; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Roselawn Memorial Park with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
