He was born in Chicago, July 23, 1961 the son of William and Joy (Shelton) Mainwaring. His parents, and three brothers; Jimmy, Billy and Joey preceded him in death.
Richard was a graduate of New Berlin High School. He was a machine specialist at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Decatur for over 18 years. He was a race fan and enthusiast, and devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Richard married Linda Freitag in Springfield, April 27, 1987 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Sabrina (husband Jeremy) Smith of Normal, IL, his son, Dustin (wife Heather) Mainwaring Sr. of Springfield, his step-son, Joseph (Tara) Hoehn of Springfield, four grandchildren: Derek Lawson, Quentin Smith, Kylie Anders and Dustin Mainwaring Jr, his brother, Stephen (Tammy) Mainwaring of Farmersville, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch and Son Crematory. A celebration of Life will be announced.
