Norma M Johnson Schwarz

She was born in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Roy D. and Mabel R. Johnson. She married Gustav Schwarz in July of 1946 in Quincy. They later divorced and he preceded her in death in 1994. Her parents and her brother Bill also preceded her in death.

Norma was a homemaker as well as a housekeeper for nursing homes in the area. She belonged to First United Methodist Church in Springfield, loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. She loved music and was an avid book club reader.

Norma is survived by her four children Fred (wife Sandra) Schwarz, Eric (wife Mary) Schwarz, Martha (husband Mark) Scheffler, and Marian Jetton all of Springfield. Eight grandchildren Brooke (husband Jamey) Oliver of Decatur, Barrett Scheffler of Kemp, TX., Rachel Scheffler of Springfield, Robert Schwarz of Springfield, Jennifer (husband Brandon) Beamer of Champaign/Urbana, Wesley Jetton of St. Ann, IL., Jacob Jetton stationed in Seattle, WA., and Justin Jetton of Springfield. Two great grandchildren, Aidan Oliver and Jaiden Jetton. One brother, Warren Johnson, of San Clemente, CA.

A memorial service will take place Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd in Springfield with Reverend Vaughn Beeman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
