Naomi A. Stone

Naomi A. Stone, 91, of Girard, formerly of Springfield died at 5:37 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Pleasant Hill Healthcare in Girard. Naomi was born February 24, 1913 in Eldred, the daughter of Van and Nettie Mae Flatt Ritchey. She married David Eugene Stone in1934 and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1954. Naomi attended St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She was employed as a medical receptionist for Dr. Harry Grant for several years and later was employed in medical records at St. John’s Hospital for about one year before her retirement in 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Helen Kirbach, Edna Grady and Gertrude Prough and brother: James Van Ritchey. She is survived by her son: Richard (wife, Mary) Stone of Springfield; daughter: Patricia (husband, Joe) Lepper of St. Louis, MO, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Marie Stone of Carrollton and several nieces and nephews. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center. The family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:15 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2005 at St. Katherine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 722 S. 12th St. Springfield with Rev. Msgr. Kenneth C. Steffen and Rev. Msgr. John A. Renken celebrants. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to M.E.R.C.Y. Communities, 108 E. Cook St. Springfield, IL 62704.
