Maurine E. Ray, 69, of Springfield, passed away Friday Feb. 25, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital.
She was born in Springfield Oct. 7, 1941 the daughter of Theodore Eugene and Helen Louise Burris Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence F. Ray, Sr. in 1996. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Selby, a sister Bertha Donaldson and a brother Tom Anderson.
Mrs. Ray worked as a nursing aide at Memorial Medical Center and operated her own house cleaning business for 15 years.
She is survived by her sons, Fred Selby (Terra), Michael Selby, Brian Selby (Katrina), Kevin Selby (Janet) and Larry Ray (Amber); her daughter, Sherry Hilgenberg ; brothers, Joe and Ted Anderson and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call Monday Feb. 28, 2011 from 5 to 7:00 PM and where services will be held Tuesday March 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM..
