Maureen Ann Kenney, 81, of Springfield, passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Joseph's Home. Maureen was born February 4, 1930, the only child of James and Agnes Regan Dunigan. She married Robert M. "Bob" Kenney on February 12, 1955 in Springfield; he preceded her in death. Maureen was a graduate of Ursuline Academy. She attended college and worked as a medical technologist for two years. She then went back to school to work on her medical degree and ended up meeting her husband, Bob. She and Bob had six lovely daughters and Maureen spent many years as a full-time wife and mother to her family. Maureen returned to work after her children were grown and retired as a bookkeeper from Illinois Pork Producers. Maureen was known for being pleasant and cheerful. She was very proud of her life and of her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football and engaging in other fun activities at St. Joseph's Home. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by six daughters, Kathleen Ervine of Ohio, Sharon (husband, Mark) Campbell of East Peoria, Linda (husband, Mike) Mueller of New Berlin, Mary Pat (husband, Mark) Hayes of Pleasant Plains, Nancy (husband, Jim) Hagerman of Rochester and Beth (husband, Dave) Durham of Rochester; fourteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
