Mary Ann Garrison, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Friday July 15, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital. She was born on August 5, 1930 in Chicago to Joseph and Mary Caroline Bruseke. Mary Ann married Fred Garrison on April 3, 1948 in Springfield and he preceded her in death on January 4, 1971.
Mrs. Garrison is survived by three children: Carol (Fiance Chris Creviston) Hudspeth and Connie Sidles both of Springfield, and Timothy (Carol) Garrison of Shelbyville, her son-in-law Fred Sidles, eleven grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, one sister Ann Wood and one brother Henry Wood both of California. She was preceded in death by one sister Rose Walker, and three brothers: Joe, John, and Jack Wood.
Mary Ann worked at several restaurants in town including The Georgian and The Thompson before becoming a traveling beautician for over five years. She loved animals, planting flowers, and gardening.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday July 21, 2016 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 11:30am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home and has requested everyone wear casual clothing.
