Marjorie Marion, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Villa Healthcare East in Sherman. Marjorie was born on June 25, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of Ralph Henry and Nellie Mae (Stewart) Reay. Marjorie married Dallas R. “Bob” Marion on August 12, 1945. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death on November 4, 2001. Marjorie was a member of Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. She retired from St. John’s Hospital in 1988.
She is survived by her 5 children: Gary Robert Marion, Michael (Elizabeth) Marion, Barbara (Michael) Mohay, Betty J. (George) Tucker, Debbie (Elliott) McKinley all of Springfield, her 15 grandchildren: Laura (Matt) Kuchar, Anne (Kevin) Hillen, Christine (Terry) Wagner, Jackie Flaherty, Byron Marion, Michelle Weder, George R. Tucker, Jeffrey Marion, Tim (Kristen) Marion, Tracy (Josh) Milleville, Troy Marion, Jill (T.J.) Gardner, Kayla McKinley, Thomas Tucker, and Travis (Cali) McKinley, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, 1 granddaughter, 1 grandson, and 1 great-grandson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St, Springfield, IL 62703, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, from 4-7pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 3, at10 am, at the funeral home. Rev. Brent Mitchell will conduct the services. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
