She was born in Burlington, IA, on November 14, 1930, the daughter of Harold I. and Ruth (Darnall) LeSuer. Marilyn married Kenneth D. Winn, Jr., in Springfield on June 12, 1955.
Marilyn graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1948 and later earned her associate’s degree from Joliet Junior College. She retired from Custom Building Partners after working for 45 years as a bookkeeper. Marilyn was a member of Central Baptist Church where she was involved in the Builders class and women’s Bible study. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Marilyn also enjoyed painting when she was younger, playing cards, going out to lunch with her friends, and attending the Illinois Symphony Orchestra concerts. Family was very important to her and Marilyn was always present for her grandchildren’s school events, whether it was sports or music.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; sister, Ruthanne LeSuer; brother, John “Jack” LeSuer; and son-in-law, Richard D. Wilson.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Jean Winn, Anne (George) Tankersley, and Nancy Wilson, all of Springfield; six grandchildren, Lysle (Regina) Tankersley, Jennifer Wilson, Leigh Tankersley-Killam, Bryan (Andrea) Wilson, Dallas (Katee) Tankersley, and Stephanie (companion, Devon Mendenhall) Wilson; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Central Baptist Church, 501 South 4th St., Springfield, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tony Stang officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
