She was born on September 26, 1937 in Deckerville, MI, the daughter of the late Clare and Halcyon (Bush) Walker. She married Jesse Hoots on December 31, 1960 in Deckerville, MI.
Marguerite worked in Medical Records for Southern Illinois University in Springfield. She had a very strong faith and love for God. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, and gardening.
Marguerite is survived by her husband Jesse Hoots of Mechanicsburg, IL; 5 children, Diane (husband Eric) May of Dundas, IL, Duane (wife Sarah) Hoots of Mechanicsburg, IL, Darlene Row of Monroe City, MO, Donna (husband Carl) Bloemker of Princeton, KY, and David (wife Laura) Hoots of Morton, IL; 10 grandchildren, Craig, Rachel, Brendon, and Travis Bloemker, Kaitlynne, Megan, and Michael Hoots, and Samuel, Adrian, and Eleanor Hoots; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Janet Webb of Hillsboro, WI and Ellen Kirt of Brodhead, WI; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Walker of Nashville, TN and Naomi Mumford of Winchester, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Walker, a sister Elaine Virgo, and a son-in-law, Donald Row.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 10:30 at the funeral home with Jon Knochenmus and Dana Jacobsen officiating. Graveside committal service will be held at Bloomfield Cemetery, west of Winchester, IL later that day at 2:30 pm.
