Kenneth J. Bricker, 55, of Girard, died at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at his home. Kenneth was born on April 6, 1951 in Louisiana, MO, the son of Harold G. and Mary Jane Bricker. He married Ginger Compardo on January 14, 1994 in Carlinville. He was a 1969 graduate of Clay City High School and earned his degree in electronics at United Electronics School at Louisville, KY. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving on the U.S.S. Constellation for three years during the Vietnam War receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/DEVICE (60-), First Good Conduct Award for period ending 27 Aug. 75, Presidential Unit Citation, RVN and Gallantry Cross w/palm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clay City, Popular Rotorcraft Association of Illinois and Experimental Aircraft Association. Kenneth was employed as a test equipment engineer for Phoenix Corporation from 1991 – 2002 and from 2003 until present as a quality assurance technician at Bunn-O-Matic. He enjoyed falconry, radio control airplanes and flying gyrocopters. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Bricker of Girard; two daughters: April and Stephanie Mahoney; parents: Mr. & Mrs. Harold G. and Mary Jane Bricker of Clay City; one sister, Glenda (husband, Stephen) Cowger of Wheeler; one brother, Monte Bricker of Clay City and several aunts and uncles and many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Cremation was accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The family welcomes friends to visit for a Memorial Gathering from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Griffith officiating.
