Julie Anne DeVault

Julie Anne DeVault, 54, of Springfield, passed away on March 15, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1968 in Springfield to Jerry L. Hammitt and Mary E. Boone. Julie married Kenneth D. DeVault Jr. in Springfield on June 22, 1991 and he survives.

Mrs. DeVault is also survived by her children: Andrew J. (Melissa) DeVault of Spaulding, Monica (Dakota) Baker of Atlanta, IL., and Dakota DeVault of Springfield, seven grandchildren: Charlee, Dakota, Andrea and Bentlee DeVault and Landon, Alyse and Emma Baker, her mother Mary Hammitt of Springfield, two brothers: Gregory (Jamie) Hammitt of Athens and Robert (Darcy) Hammitt of Sherman and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Hammitt.

Julie was a teacher with Springfield School District 186 for thirty two years teaching Kindergarten, third and fourth grades. She enjoyed attending her grandkids sports and dance events, she spent many years watching softball, volleyball, football, BMX, soccer. She enjoyed spending her weekends and summers with her family, thrifting, antiquing, finding books, going to garage sales, enjoying her pool with her family, binge watching her favorite TV shows, coloring and puzzles with her grandbabies.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday March 23, 2023 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00pm Wednesday March 22, 2023 at Bisch and Son. Memorial contributions may be made to IECU made payable to Kenneth DeVault.
