Janice E. Minch, 67, of Springfield, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at St. John’s Hospital Hospice. Janice was born November 19, 1937 in Pawnee, the daughter of George Shepherd and Helen Dozier Archer Davidson. She was a graduate of Pawnee High School and attended Springfield College in Illinois. She was a charter member of Christ The King Catholic Church. She presently was serving as Regent of Sgt. Caleb HopkinsChapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Alpha 135 Sisters in Beta Sigma Phi, Springfield Ceramic Club and Metropolitan Women’s Club. She also enjoyed bowling. She married Walter H. Minch on November 7, 1964 at Christ The King Catholic Church. Janice had been employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company and as a staff assistant for the Illinois House Senate Committee. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Kenneth Arden Davidson. She is survived by her husband: Walter H. Minch of Springfield; one son: Stephen (wife, Amy) Minch of Springfield; one daughter: Julie (husband, Sean) Dailey of Springfield; one grandson: Michael Dailey of Springfield; one sister: Bettie (husband, Robert) Burtle of Glenarm; one brother: Richard W. (wife, Mary Jane) Davidson of Springfield; three nieces, three nephews and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 4:15 p.m. conducted by District V Daughters of the American Revolution. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr. Springfield with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant.
