Janet Lee Antonacci, 69 of Springfield, died at 9:10 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital Hospice. Janet was born August 6, 1934 in Elkhart the daughter of Virgil and Glenna Mae Parson Dennison. She married John W. Garretson in 1953; he preceded her in death on November 22, 1971. She later married Charles Robert Antonacci in 1982; he preceded her in death June 4, 1999. Mrs. Antonacci retired from St. Francis Convent where she served as Assistant Supervisor of the Kitchen. She was actively involved in the Foster Grandparents Program at Pleasant Hill Elementary School. She formerly attended Third Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepson: Jack Garretson and siblings: James Dennison, Earl Dennison, Martha Wheatley, Burl Dennis and Robert Dennison. She is survived by two sons: Alan R. (spouse, Pam) Garretson of New Holland, John W. Jr. (wife, Loretta) Garretson of Naperville; one daughter: Dolly M. (husband, Rick) Eck of Riverton; one stepson: Jim (wife, Maurie) Garretson of Springfield; nine grandchildren: Cody Garretson, John, III (wife, Rebecca) Garretson, Trevor (wife, Jacqueline) Garretson, Tyler and Jacqueline Garretson, Heather L. Williams, John Strode, Jr., Stephen Myers, Jr., Kevin Myers; six great grandchildren; three brothers: Wilbur Dennison of Williamsville, Leonard (wife, Lucille) Dennison of Williamsville, Norman (wife, Eileen) Dennison of Springfield; two sisters: Lydia Dambacher of Cantrall and Evelyn Freeman of Springfield; one stepdaughter-in-law: Mary Garretson and many nieces, nephews and cousins The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation. Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
