James O. Withrow

James Otis Withrow, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 8:01 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at The Villas of Sherman. James was born on February 28, 1938 in Loami, the son of Arthur and Mary Payne Withrow. He married Donna L. Wilson on October 25, 1958. James graduated from New Berlin High School, class of 1956. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and the State of Illinois for 10 years. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. James was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the U of I. James was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bonnie Anders. He is survived by his wife, Donna of Washington; daughter, Dawn (Roger) Crawford of Washington; sons, Bob (Denise) Withrow of Nashville, TN and David (Tonya) Withrow of Riverton; sister, Shelba (George) Burris of Springfield; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Memorial Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Christ the King Parish, 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield, with Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant.
