Eleanor M. Miller, 91, of Springfield, died at 1:12 a.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at St. Joseph's Home. Eleanor was born on November 27, 1918 in Springfield, the daughter of Alexander and Constancia Czauskis Tribicus. She married Carl Miller January 2, 1939 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He preceded her in death in 1977. Eleanor worked as a tax examiner for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue and had also worked at Illinois Bell earlier in her career. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she belonged to the Over 55 Club, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Lake Press Club, ELKS Lodge #158, and volunteered as a Samaritan at St. John's Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Margaret (husband, Richard) Giesing of Springfield, Constance (husband, Vincent) Pemberton of Chandler, AZ and Carlene (husband, Kenneth) Bates of Springfield; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Aherin of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Home, 3306 S. 6th St. Rd., Springfield, IL 62703.
