Douglas Alan Hamrick, 65, of Springfield, passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2024 at his home after a lengthy illness. Douglas was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 6, 1959, the son of Robert Anglan Hamrick and Irene Pell Hamrick.
He is survived by his daughter Grace Elizabeth Hamrick, two sisters: Suzanne H. (David C.) Eldridge and Marcia H. (the late David L.) Bruna, one nephew Morgan W. (Lydia) Eldridge, one grand-nephew Brayden T. Eldridge, one aunt and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jeffrey Pell Hamrick.
Douglas attended Chatham schools, he graduated from Glenwood High School in 1977 and Illinois State University in 1981. He was employed by the McDonalds Corporation for many years and was in the restaurant business in Springfield for several years. Doug was a Green Bay Packers fan and a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation rites were accorded and a private burial will take place at a later date.
