June was born June 29, 1932 in Waverly, the daughter of Charles Edward Dunseth, Sr. and Frances Eleanor Johnson Dunseth. She was married to Louis Shaver Myers of Springfield in 1958.
June graduated from MacMurray College in Jacksonville and obtained a masters degree from California State University in Long Beach. She went on to teach in the Long Beach, California school system and then Springfield District 186. June volunteered at Memorial Medical Center and was employed by the Illinois Department of Public Health in the HIV/AIDS section for over 15 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents and several siblings.
June is survived by her husband, Louis S. Myers; a daughter, Julie Dunseth Myers (husband, Cass) Casper of Springfield; a grandson, Myers (wife, Christine) Dill of St. Louis, MO; a son, Stephen Dunseth (wife, Terri Blake) Myers of Athens; a granddaughter, Blake E. Myers of Brooklyn, NY; a grandson, John W. S. Myers of Yuma, AZ; a son, Scott Dunseth (wife, Erica M.) Myers of Seattle, WA; a grandson, Jake M. Myers of Chicago; and a granddaughter, Emiko M. Myers of Seattle, WA.
She was involved in the Springfield Art Association, Grateful Daughters Circle of the Kings Daughters Organization, the Historic Sites Commission of Springfield, the Ceramics and Craft Association, and the Springfield Junior League.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
A private service and burial are planned at Fancy Creek Cemetery.
