Dorothy Agnes Duggar, 91, of Carlinville, formerly of Litchfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on July 24, 2013, at Heritage Health. Dot was born on November 21, 1921 in Butler, MO to George F. and Mary Amanda Valcoure Longworth. Growing up during the depression years, she worked on her family farm near Butler, IL. Even though she graduated at the top of her high school class in 1940, in Hillsboro, Dot was well known as an excellent left handed softball pitcher. She married in 1942, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Duggar in 1986. They lived in Annandale, VA, and she worked for the federal government in the Veterans� Administration for 44 years, until retirement in 1986. In 1997, Dot moved to Illinois to be near her sister in Litchfield. She enjoyed cultivating flowers in her garden, until she was well into her 90�s. Mrs. Duggar is survived by her brother, Arthur Longworth and his wife Joan Lynch of Springfield, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham. Graveside services will be held at 2pm, on Monday, July 29, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Litchfield.
