Cecil A. Price

Cecil A. Price, 89, of New Berlin, died at 6:07 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2006 at his residence He was born on May 13, 1917, in Summersville, KY, the son of Eddie and Ada Mears Price. He married Ava Marcum; she preceded him in death in 1990. He joined the community of New Berlin in 1940 and was a member of the New Berlin Baptist Church. He worked for GM&O Railroad until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Elmer Price; one sister: Naomi Skaggs and one grandson: Jay Price. He is survived by three sons: Wayne (wife, Marilyn) Price of Granite City, Mark (wife, Sharon) Price of New Berlin and Larry (wife, Vangie) of Flower Mound, TX; three daughters: Stella James, Laura Lawhorn and Connie (husband, Bruce) Jeffers all of New Berlin; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2006 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 East Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2006 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery in Island Grove Township. Memorial contributions may be made to: United Baptist Church of New Berlin, 600 W. Birch St., New Berlin, IL 62670.
