Carolyn Hinton Donner died on July 13, 2012 in Springfield, IL at her home. She was born August 7, 1934 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of L.W. (Scotty) Hinton and Florence Ostermeier Hinton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Hinton (Huesing). A graduate of Springfield High School, she attended the University of Illinois where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. For more than 30 years she lived in Elmhurst, IL and was very active as a volunteer in educational activities. She served as Parent Teacher Association president of Hawthorne elementary school; founder of Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO) when Special Education was in its infancy. For many years she served on the Educational Planning Committee of Unit School District 205 representing its students and parents. She was a member of the PEO sisterhood in Elmhurst and Springfield. In 1992 she returned to Springfield. She was employed by the Clerk of the Circuit Court until she retired in 2001. She is survived by two sons, Gregory Donner and David Donner, both of Springfield; daughter, Laura (husband, Mike) Mudra of Pleasant Plains. There are two grandchildren, David and Alec Mudra; nephews, Scott (wife, Kimberly) Huesing and Michael (wife, Jami) Huesing; and several cousins, Judy Harvey Bartholf and Lois Harvey Carol, Nancy Burrows and Nikki Owens. Private family ceremonies will be held with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 675 E.
