Billy R. Hatcher, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at his home. Billy was born March 18, 1927 in Patterson, IL, the son of Richard and Annie Bell Nell Hatcher. He married Lisa Butcher on May 25, 1985 in Chatham. Billy proudly served in the U.S. Army and began working on the family orchard before moving on to CIPS as a lineman. He also sold insurance for many years and most recently worked for Bank of Springfield as VP of Special Projects. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Hatcher Huber; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Hatcher of Springfield; son, Rick (wife, Diane) Hatcher of Springfield; five grandchildren, Betsy Barrington of Auburn, Jeremy (wife, Kelly) Taylor of Lake St. Louis, MO, Larry Taylor of Vail, CO, and Misty and Matthew Hatcher, both of Springfield; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Barrington and Jacob Simpson; sister, Irene McCool of Branson, MO; and many nieces and nephew.
