Ann G. Carr

Ann (Geneva) Carr passed away suddenly on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on November 30, 1936 in Findley, IL to Pauline Leeds Jaegle and Fred Leeds.

Ann had a long and adventurous work career. She sold real estate in Decatur IL, was an Accountant Executive for GMAC Mortgage in St. Louis, MO and worked many years in Mortgage Banking in St. Louis and Springfield for Norwest and Wells Fargo. In 2000 she won the Wells Fargo Management Excellence Award. Not one to sit at home, after retirement she went to work part-time for Illini Bank.

Ann was a great cook and loved to entertain. She was a wonderful crafter and spent many, many creative hours with the Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club and her Stamping Techniques Club. She was a fabulous mother and she will be missed not only by her family but by all that knew her.

Ann was preceded in death by her mother Pauline; Father Fred; step-father Jake; and husband Robert. Surviving are sons, Scott and Greg (Springfield), daughter and son-in-law Lisa and John Kiessel (Sturgeon Bay, WI), sisters Karen Bass and Freda Chittum and brother Fred Leeds. She had 5 grandchildren: Megan, Amber, Matthew, Graham, and Hannah and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 3 pm- 7pm at Bisch Funeral Home West, 29312 S Koke Mill Rd, Springfield , IL 62711. Funeral services will be private at a later date.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
