Alice Walter, 74, of New Berlin, died at 10:37 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Regency Nursing Home. She was born on April 23, 1938 in Petersburg, the daughter of August and Lena Jurgens Theilen. She married Elliott Walter on December 28, 1957 in Pleasant Plains. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2006. She was a graduated of Pleasant Plains High School. She held various secretarial positions including at Hermes Chevrolet, Farmer's Grain, U & L Grain, FS of New Berlin, and she retired from the State of Illinois Department of Public Aid. She enjoyed cooking lunches for all of the farm help, playing cards with friends and family, having big family Sunday dinners, and vacationing in the winter. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kenneth, Wayne, and Paul Theilen. She is survived by her son, Steve (wife, Linda) Walter of New Berlin; two grandchildren: Jerrod (wife, Lindsey) Walter and Jacob (wife, Natalie) Walter, both of New Berlin; five great-grandchildren, Gentry, Crue, Hayden, Tayla, and Sloan; siblings, Merle Theilen, Lois Selinger, Barbara Theilen, Linda (husband, Kenneth) Allen, Roger Theilen, Joyce (husband, Ken) Boehme, and Larry (Barbie) Theilen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2013 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery in New Berlin, with Rev. Dan Eggold officiating.
