John Willard Thompson, age 69, of Springboro, OH, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The son of the late Garland and Martha (Beekman) Thompson, John was born in Troy, Ohio, on December 27, 1954.
John’s fondest childhood memories were of the years he spent on his family’s farm in southern Ohio. His love of farm equipment, farm animals, and farmers continued into his adult life. John was a steadfast man who was committed to his family and Christian faith–a faith that compelled him to engage with current events from both a political and biblical perspective. He was a devoted husband, kind and loyal friend, and loving father and grandfather.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Monica; son Michael and daughter-in-law Leslie; granddaughter, Alice; brother, James; and niece, Elaine.
Funeral Services are 1:00 pm Saturday at Anderson Funeral Home 40 North Main Street Springboro, Ohio with Pastor Tyrone Choate officiating. Burial Springboro Cemetery. Visitation Saturday 12:00 pm to 1:00.pm.
