Herbert Stephen Richmond, age 89, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 8, 2024 with his loving wife of 70 years, Mattie and his family by his side. He was born on August 3, 1935 in Rockcastle County, KY to the late William Anderson and Vida Richmond.
Herbert retired from General Motors in 1987 and was a faithful member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Waynesville, OH for many years.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Mattie; sons, Jerry (Tonya) and Jeff (Amy); grandchildren, Luke (Gigi) and Lauren (Marcus); siblings, Ben (Elvie) and Lola; sisters-in-law, Opal, Ene and Melba; lifelong friends, Ruth, Randy and Larry Leming and Nancy Doggett; along with many other family members and friends.
We would like to extend special recognition to neighbors who have become family, Tom Lovely and Jamie Kitchen.
In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by siblings, Ellen, Robert, Lillie, Lena, Gordon, Herman and Marshall; sister-in-law, Ina and Brothers-in-law, Lloyd, Raymond, Earl and Buck.
A visitation for Herbert will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio 45066, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tim Noble and Pastor Randall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
