Florence “June” Fischer, 98, of Suffern, passed away on November 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life full of purpose, passion, and love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, music, and devotion to her family and community.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, to Morris and Sydell Kelmar, June was a talented pianist and dedicated music teacher who touched the lives of many. Over the course of more than 50 years, she taught countless students, some of whom continued to visit her, even during her hospital stays. Her commitment to sharing her love for music extended beyond the classroom—she spent many years volunteering at Summit Park, where she played piano for patients with Alzheimer’s, providing comfort and solace through her music.
June’s devotion to her faith was equally remarkable. As a beloved member of the Reform Temple of Rockland, she formed lifelong friendships and remained actively involved in her congregation throughout her life.
She traveled the world, always finding beauty in every corner of the globe, but above all, she cherished the moments spent with her family. June was a devoted mother to Robin Greenberg (Bart) and Steven Lampert, and a loving grandmother to Shari (Josh) and Kimberly. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Keimel and Alice, and a cherished sister to Donald Kelmar and aunt to Merrill Mazzella.
